Was, Wenn

The poster series deals with the intangible thought processes of an overthinker. The constant question and fear of the occurrence of abstruse events is catching up with more and more people in today's digitalised world. Whether travelling home on public transport or in a quiet living room, overthinking is not bound to a specific location. You are trapped in the limbo of your own thinking, a constant up and down.

Schalenwelten

The "Schalenwelten" exhibition space is a fictitious
project in collaboration with the Natural History
Museum Basel. It invites visitors to experience the
diversity and beauty of the shells of mussels and
snails in a special way. With interactive elements
and detailed insights, visitors to the exhibition
are invited to discover this hidden world of shells
and understand their function and significance.
Without a protective shell, mussels and snails would
be helplessly exposed to the harsh natural
environment. But the shell is not just a protective
cover. In the fauna, it reveals its aesthetic beauty
with a wide variety of colours and shapes. It tells
stories about adaptation, habitats and evolution.

« Furtgoh »

"I have a dream" – that was the topic for our
documentary film about our protagonist.
The film
is about the eternal search for home. A girl who
simply wanted to get away from home to find happiness.
A woman who says she has no dreams, but is convinced
that she can fulfil others' dreams.
This project
was a wonderful opportunity to engage intensively with
image and sound and we developed an exciting
dramaturgy to tell the story of our protagonist.
« Furtgoh »
is officially nominated for the 49th swiss youth film
festival 2025.

Im Hinterhaus

This project was created as part of the "Architecture
and light" theme. An analysis of the building MFH
Landskronhof was the starting material for the final
video. How is light reflected in the building based on
form and function? When creating our 3D models, we
were inspired by the original building and focussed on
surface structures, building elements and mood.
The
building is located in a backyard surrounded by urban
houses. The tranquillity there and the interaction of
the facade with the surroundings are surprising. A
multitude of transitions, which became part of our
animation.

Typographic
staging
in space

Creating an immersive experience with the use of typography and space. This was the concept of our project "Typographic staging in space". The word "cut-out" inspired us to use a projector on various surfaces. By cutting out areas of the illuminated surface and playing different animations, we created a live performance. The people watching could become part of this immersive experience and walk through the installation.

Paper Plants

In this photographic study of an Alocasia, we analysed
form, colour and light in detail. The output of this
project was three series. One of them with speed
light, another with steady light and the third a
combination of the two in the form of a
superimposition. It was particularly exciting to see
how form, colour and structures behave differently.
Among other things, the ability to create a serial
composition was promoted.
In the second part of
the project, we created a virtual room with our
superimposed images and our plant. We chose a broken
flower pot as a shell for our room. This forms a
threshold between dead and alive, unstable and stable.
By changing the shape of the superimposed images and
overlaying them, resulting in a glitch, we created a
dystopian world that can be placed in the real world.

Digital Design Processes

With the content keyword "Plant-based" I created two
different series, each with a formal keyword. The
first series was given the word "Dynamics" and the
second the word "loud". In the first series, I moved a
branch through a scanner and analysed the resulting
designs for movement and abstraction. For the second
series, I used different leaves as stamps and applied
different amounts of colour to the paper. It was also
very exciting to look at the different leaf
structures.
Towards the end, the focus was on
organising all the designs according to certain
criteria. I laid out all the drafts in analogue form.
This resulted in matrices, which I converted into
digital form.

About
Typography

The aim of this project was to design an editorial based on a given text. I decided in favour of a purely typographical approach without any visual material. The focus was on the composition of design elements, but also on the content and therefore the dramaturgy. The booklet was printed and bound independently and thus came to a round conclusion.

ROTBOD

In this project, rotating letters were used. I worked
in a photo studio and tried to make letters appear
three-dimensional through long exposures. I used
different colour foils to create different moods. The
focus was on the production of a moving poster that
advertises the final exhibition of the module
Animation/Illustration at the School of Art Basel.
The title ROTBOD stands for Rotation Body and creates
a link between an object and it's interaction with the
environment. Just how movement becomes an important
aspect in animation.

Branch

This corporate design was about creating a
communication platform. The name of my platform is
"Branch". It aims to connect people who have mental
health problems or concerns. Be it with people with
similar problems or with specialists. In addition to a
chat function, there is also the opportunity to find
out about certain specific topics. In addition to
education and information, there is the possibility of
anonymity and the obligation of verification by
specialists.
The name "Branch" and the colour
scheme are intended to give hope for the possibility
of development and to promote progress in overcoming
mental health problems.

Fabrikhalle wird
Festivalbühne

The continuation of the theme "Architecture and Light" consisted of an examination of a cultural-historical topic. I focussed on the example of a temporary light installation as part of the Strafwerk Festival in Amsterdam and the exchange between visitors and the urban space. How can artificial light change space in terms of atmosphere, liveliness and perception?

For me,
graphic design is always connected
to a story
worth
telling.
About Me
I am a Graphic Designer and Digital Creator based in Basel, Switzerland, currently studying Visual Communication and Digital Spaces in the Bachelor program. I started my studies at the Academy of Art and Design Basel, Institute Digital Communication Environments, in September 2023.
My Workflow
During my design process, I love to keep a good structure. Starting with a simple sketch of several ideas leading to an organised concept, helps me to take further steps. I always want to exchange ideas and initial practical implementations with other people and clients to get more inspirations concerning the project I'm working on.
My Style
Throughout the development of my career I started to work in a more classic and minimalistic graphical style. However, as a contemporary artist, I love to keep my mind open for new experiences.
